Marion Kosier

marion kosier Marion KosierRev. Marion Leon Kosier Jr., 48, Summerville, SC: Committing or attempting a lewd act on a child younger than 16. The complaint said Kosier, pastor of Harleyville Christian Church and a registered sex offender, exposed his genitals to a girl, 5, in her bedroom in 2008. The girl had attended his church. Lil Kosier said her husband of 21 years is innocent. “He has never been alone with this child. It’s just someone trying to ruin him.”

The girl’s parents said that after she told them about the incident, they learned that Marion Kosier was a registered sex offender. He had previously been arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in August 1984. In November of that year, he was convicted of a lesser offense of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was sentenced to five years in prison and three years of probation.

Kosier served fewer than three years behind bars before he was eligible for release on probation in April 1987. Kosier was arrested again in August 1995 and charged with exposing himself and committing a lewd act on a minor. At the time, he was pastor of Branchville Baptist Church and that he resigned two weeks before two girls accused him of exposing himself when they came to his house to sell doughnuts.

Samuel Taylor

darrin taylor 185x185 Samuel TaylorRev. Samuel Darin Taylor, 61, Lake City, FL: conspiracy to commit grand theft, scheming with intent to defraud, racketeering, mortgage fraud, money laundering. Taylor is accused of defrauding the First Assembly of God Church, where he was formerly pastor, of about $250,000. He allegedly forged documents to get loans and mortgages, opened several credit card accounts without the approval of the church board and used donated property as collateral to receive the loans.

Gregory Malia

Gregory Malia, 44, a Pennsylvania Episcopal priest, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after a bar fight involving his estranged daughters, their boyfriends and Malia’s two female companions. Police said he pulled a gun at the River Street Ale House in Luzerne and kept his daughters’ boyfriends at bay while one of his companions fought with his daughters. “My heart is broken,” Marilyn Malia, 23, told the Daily News as she nursed a broken nose. They beat the living hell out of me, and my father just stood there and watched and enjoyed it, and protected the girls who beat me.” Police said Malia fled the scene with the two women in a black Jaguar but was later arrested. Malia, a hemophiliac, made headlines last year when the Daily News revealed he was a club legend known as “Father Greg” who doled out 5-figure tips and bought Dom Perignon for strangers.

UPDATE – Malia was defrocked from the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, Pa., on grounds he “abandoned the communion of this church.”

Benito Catello

benito catello Benito CatelloBenito Catello, 76, Las Vegas, NV: Charged with 29 felonies, including sexual assault with a minor under 14 and lewdness with a minor under 14. Catello is a “prophet” in The Ministry, a nondenominational church he runs from his home. One girl, 14, told police Catello digitally penetrated her while her grandma was watching TV and that he told her she would “burn in hell” if she spoke up and that “Anything that happened while he was in the company of the girls is God’s doing and he can’t be held responsible.”

UPDATE – the 76-year-old died at his home while under hospice care.

Gordon Lunceford

Lunceford, 47, Richmond, KY: charged with 6 counts 3rd-degree rape, 5 counts 3rd-degree sodomy, 1 count 1st-degree sexual abuse, 1 count 2nd-degree sexual abuse. Both victims were under 16 in 1992 when the assaults allegedly occurred. Lunceford was youth minister at several Kentucky churches.

Randall Hollifield

randall hollifield Randall HollifieldRandall Thomas Hollifield, 45, Powell, TN: 2 counts of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor. He is a youth volunteer at New Beverly Baptist Church and works for Match Maker Inc., said a sheriff’s press release. Affidavits said Hollifield performed oral sex on a male under 13 and forced the boy to reciprocate. A search found over 100 images on his camera and computer of a minor engaged in sex.

Jonathan Giles

jon giles Jonathan GilesJonathan Giles, 24, Clarksville, Tennessee was charged with statutory rape, solicitation of a minor and sexual battery by an authority figure while he was youth minister at Spring Creek Baptist Church. Police said Giles sent sexual text messages to several girls and had sexual contact several times with a 16-year-old in her home.

Giles pleaded guilty to the charges.

William Wilson

William Wilson William WilsonWilliam Ralph Wilson III, 30, Gaston, SC: 5 counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 16 and 3 counts of disseminating harmful material to minors. Wilson was youth minister at the Chapel of Redemption Church when the incidents are alleged to have occurred. One alleged victim said Wilson “fondled him” and showed him pornography over a period of two years. The boy said Wilson urged him and other boys to perform sex acts on themselves at Wilson’s home. He allegedly fondled the boy as he let him drive his car without a license.
